10: Into the Future

Application Activities
  1. Generate a list and rank the top ten barriers to implementing an activity-based approach. Divide into small groups to explain or provide solutions for the top two implementation barriers.

  2. Review the major elements of an activity-based approach (child-directed, routine, and planned activities; multiple and varied learning opportunities; functional and generative goals; timely and integral feedback or consequences), and then observe interactions and activities within your practicum or job setting. Which elements are being implemented, and what evidence do you have to support conclusions?
