4: Organizational Structure of an Activity-Based Approach
Application Activities
- Divide into cooperative learning groups to brainstorm and generate a list of pros and cons of using intervention guides and embedding schedules. Combine groups, and discuss whether the pros outweigh the cons.
- Select a minimum of three different intervention strategies discussed in the chapter (e.g., forgetfulness, novelty, interruption). Try to select strategies you have not used before or that you may find difficult to implement. Locate descriptions of how to implement or use the strategy, and create a written description that must include a definition or description of the strategy (i.e., how to implement or use the strategy) and a summary of the conditions under which the strategy should be used (e.g., for what purpose, for which population). Finally, demonstrate how to use one of the three strategies.
