Application Activities
  1. Divide into pairs or small groups. Ensure that each pair or group has access to the Internet and other readings related to developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) and activity-based intervention (ABI). Each pair or group should generate a T chart of the similarities and differences between DAP and ABI. Debrief as a larger group.

  2. Observe an interaction between caregivers and a child or group of children (i.e., view a brief video clip, visit a local child care center, observe in student job or practicum settings). Following the observation, identify an historical influence that was evident/observable during the interaction.
